the N family: a sneak peek

The N family came all the way from New York just so I could take their pictures!
Well, not really, but while they were here in Utah, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting them and capturing a bit of their personalities.

Elsie at 7 days

Miss Elsie was a perfect little peanut for me. She gave me such a variety of facial expressions for one so itty bitty. Just so sweet and beautiful, don't you think?





And I couldn't resist grabbing a shot of big sister with her big blue eyes and fabulous curls.

the W family

First up, Mr. E, who was amazingly cooperative for a little guy and gave me lots of great smiles.


Then there was Miss Ball-of-Fire, who loved to make funny faces and did some wonderful leaping, twirling and dancing for me.

Calm, cool, collected, N was so willing to do whatever I asked him. He was a natural in front of the camera and obviously is such a great kid.

sing, sing a song

I took these images to be used in advertisement for Celebration Performers. Miss S was a little reluctant to show me her moves but I think I managed to bring out a little inner diva after all.

classic fresh

I had an assignment for photography class I am taking to take an image that showcased my style. Defining one's style is not an easy task! I love so many aspects of the different styles. After a lot of thought, I've decided to call my style CLASSIC FRESH.

I am drawn to color, texture, and simplicity in portraits. I want to take images that will not look completely dated in a few years. However, I also love and incorporate trends of contemporary photography like urban settings and saturated color. So there you have it. Classic fresh--classic images with a contemporary twist.

baby Z--two weeks old

Baby Z did not sleep even one minute for me.

We kind of had to fake it.

She apparently didn't like all my handling either because she was loudly expressing her displeasure at the end.

But immediately after Mom picked her up she was okay.

Baby A is the first girl in this family. Mom is busy enjoying the pink, the frills and the bows with this sweet thing.
